The 3G-SDI to HDMI 1.3 Converter takes a 3G-SDI or single link HD-SDI signal and converts it to HDMI 1.3. Output resolutions of up to 1080p60 are supported. The 3G-SDI source is looped through to a dedicated 3G-SDI output and two L+R RCA-type analog audio output jacks for monitoring input audio.

Automatic EDID capture makes for effortless configuration of the HDMI output signal. With this feature enabled, options such as Color Space, Deep Color, and bit depth are automatically set.

SDI

SDI (serial digital interface), used primarily in broadcasting, converts and transmits Standard Definition digital video through SDI (BNC) connectors. HD-SDI and 3G-SDI are high-bandwidth types of SDI that support higher resolutions such as 1080i (HD-SDI) and 1080p60 (3G-SDI).

How It Works

SDI devices are connected to the SDI input and HDMI devices are connected to the HDMI output. When the SDI source, HDMI display and the 3G-SDI to HDMI 1.3 Converter are powered and connected, video signals are converted to the proper format on the HDMI output connector of the Converter. A convenient SDI/HD-SDI/3G-SDI loop-through output connector and two L+R analog RCA audio outputs allow monitoring of SDI/HD-SDI/3G-SDI audio. LED indicators display the input/output color space, sampling, bit depth (input only), and the presence of deep color (output only).

Should troubleshooting be necessary, the 3G-SDI to HDMI 1.3 Converter generates a built-in pre-programmed test pattern which can be invoked at any time without a valid input.

Firmware programs can be upgraded in the field via the Converter's USB connector.
