The Arbutus REX is the remote (device-side) component of Icron’s next-generation Arbutus extension system, delivering long-range USB-C and 4K video connectivity with maximum simplicity and performance. When paired with the Arbutus LEX, the REX receives USB 3.1 Gen 1 and DisplayPort Alt Mode signals from the host device via a single CAT 6a/7 cable—extending connectivity up to 100 meters without degradation or latency.
The REX provides a USB-C output port for seamless connection to USB-C monitors, docking stations, or hubs—supporting Ultra HD 4K60 video and full 5Gbps USB bandwidth from the host. With support for USB power passthrough, the REX can also power attached peripherals when sufficient power is delivered from the host via the LEX unit.
This compact, durable unit requires no software, drivers, or user configuration, making it ideal for deployment in high-demand environments such as conference rooms, lecture halls, digital signage, and control systems. The REX preserves signal fidelity and ensures stable performance across a wide range of USB devices including cameras, keyboards, touchscreens, and storage solutions.
